Royal Playa Del Carmen- Playa, Mexico- Geo Linna

The Royal Playa Del Carmen:

 

We stayed 3 nights at the Royal and it was very impressive.  It is in a great location, walking distance to shops, dining and nightlife on 5th Ave.  The food was wonderful all around.  My favorite was the Asian restaurant Asiana, best meal of the trip.  The only thing to be aware of is this is open to the public, located in front of the resort so knowing what is included can be a bit confusing, but if you ask, there is only a few things that are not included like a special they were offering and if you wanted a wine that was not one offered.  The morning buffet was always fresh with many options.

 

I used the gym and it was well kept, offering many machines, free weights, Pilates and spin classes.  By the main pool there is a pool butler and full service, the swim up bar is nice as well.  The beach is large and you can walk for a long time, the water was not the clear aqua color but I think it was due to the weeks of rain they had just had.  The resort has a nice up scale feeling all around.

 

The staff was amazing, friendly and always put their hand on their heart when they greeted you.  The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were beautiful.   I would highly recommend this resort to families, active travelers and upscale clients.
