RIU Palace Peninusla- Cancun, Mexico-Rollie Haugen

RIU PALACE PENINSULA

This resort is a massive square arch shaped building that is certain to become a landmark in Cancun as it is readily visible from all areas of the hotel zone. The lobby follows the purple and glittery silver modern Spanish decor of the RIU PALACE brand. The dining, bars, shopping and entertainment areas are easily accessed off the main lobby.  The pool areas are between the building and beach and are very lovely. The grounds are nicely landscaped. The beach has rocky areas with soft sand entrances to the water. Sugar sand bottom with sea grass beyond. Shoreline would be difficult for long walks.

Kids club for ages 4-12 and a teen area are on property.

Privileges are available at the nearby RIU properties.

ACCOMMODATIONS

All rooms have a view of the ocean and are the same basic design. Classifications differ according to location. Rooms have an open concept  with the bathroom open to the rest of the suite. The minimal privacy could be difficult, especially for families with teenagers.  With door open, the toilets are ocean view:)

The evening shows are apparently very good and were well attended.

Although I personally would probably not pick this particular RIU property for my vacation, I would not have any problem recommending it to singles or families who are looking for a fun, active property in Cancun.
