Barcelo Maya Palace
Barcelo Maya Palace, is part of the Barcelo
complex 45 miles south of the Cancun Airport. This resort is the "deluxe"
complex on the north end of the 1 mile stretch of beach. Staying at this resort
allows you to play and party at the other four. Being the Top Dog - you can
have full access to all facilities at Barcelo Maya Beach, Caribe, Colonial and
Tropical. These unlucky guys can not use your facilities.
All rooms here are Junior Suites, in 2014 there will be the newer Junior Suite Deluxe Pool View Suites. They will be located behind the Oaxaca building, 60 rooms allowing premium amenities. Third floor has the 2 Presidential Jacuzzi room, connecting to a Junior Suite Deluxe. Besides this, no rooms CONNECT. You will not be able to request a connecting room. Another side note, is do not let the room names mislead you on oceanfronts/beachfront. There is not such a room. The meaning to this discription is the rooms are the closest to the ocean, towards the front. This resort can hold 5 people with their room category bedding available as described. They do not have extra beds for roll-a-ways. Be careful when booking room, that you have selected the proper bedding type needed, as you will NOT be receiving any extras !
Neat rooming feature is all Odd Number rooms are Kings, Even Numbers are Double Beds. If you want to request and email the concierge early on bedding request, building location, birthday's, etc, they request you do so 3-4 days prior to your guests arriving. This is when they start assigning the rooms. Earlier you could get the information lost in the shuffle, later it might be too late. Just a suggestions.
They have free entrance to the disco including drinks, and NEWLY added is 24 hour all inclusive access to food, drinks and snacks at the lobby bar from 10p-7am.
Mini Golf, Pitch n Putt, Mini Club for kids, Water park for kids ( zero entry pool), and pathways through out the entire complex make it perfect for jogging/walking paths.
This resort is a perfect Multi-Generation option for Destination Weddings/Family Reunion Groups. They have something for every body. Connecting all the resorts with their trolly shuttle service, if you do not want to walk.
Overall, this resort is a great value with the location being close for tours in the Akumal/Tulum/Coba area. The multiple options of entertainment and food. You won't be disappointed !
