The Ocean Maya Resort, located south of Playa del Carmen, is a small villa like resort with 320 total rooms and 2 room categories, Standard and Jr. Suites. The resort has beautiful mature landscaping, two pools, and a very nice white sandy beach. In the main resort area, they have three restaurants, including Japanese, Mexican and Italian as well as their main buffet restaurant. There is no room service at this resort. Reservations are required for the al a carte restaurants.

The Ocean Maya has a dive center onsite located in the pool area. They also offer a free shuttle to Playa del Carmen. Reservations are required 1 day in advance. Free Wifi is available in the lobby only with your own computer.

The rooms at the resort are nice sized, with two double beds or 1 king bed. Bathrooms are a bit on the small size and the rooms were clean but in need of updating. This would be nice budget resort. They also have a lounge on the lower level below the lobby area and bar in the lobby area. Also a snack bar and bar service near the pool, a gift shop and medical services on property.
